Optimistic Job Market Outlook for Colorado

According to a new study by the ManpowerGroup, the hiring trends in Colorado and Denver are expected to exceed national hiring trends over the next three months

SUMMARY OF STATE RESULTS

In the state of Colorado, twenty-nine percent of employers plan to hire more employees, while two percent expect to reduce their payrolls. Sixty-six percent expect to maintain their current workforce levels and two percent are not certain of their hiring plans. This yields a net employment outlook of twenty-eight percent.

SUMMARY OF DENVER RESULTS

In the Denver metro area, twenty-nine percent of employers said they plan to hire more employees from July through September. Four percent plan to reduce payrolls, while sixty-five percent of employers expect to maintain current staff levels and two percent indicate they are not sure of their hiring plans. This yields a net employment outlook of twenty-five percent.

Earlier this month, it was reported that only one state ranks better than Colorado for finding a job and only four states have better economies, according to two new reports. Denver’s private sector is among the fastest-growing in the nation — ahead of Seattle, Houston and San Francisco. Colorado Springs was one of the highest-rated job market cities in the country, with a net employment outlook of thirty percent for the upcoming quarter. Nationally, the net employment outlook is eighteen percent.
